Jesus Christ and Idol?
An image used as an object of worship. b. A false god. 2. One that is adored, often blindly or excessively. 3. Something visible but without substance. This is the definition of idol. I read this morning that Kanye West declared Jesus Christ one of his idols. The bible tells us to avoid idol worship. In the 10 commandments we are told to not put any false gods before the true and living God. We are told to place our faith and trust in Jesus Christ. I would say that the way we conduct ourselves allows others to see whether Jesus Christ is our Savior or our idol. If we live a life that shows that Jesus Christ is far from us, we are showing Him as an idol. If we live like His word is shaping our lives, then we are showing the world around us that he is our savior. We need to be careful not to let Jesus become our idol.

The Journey's Journey
It has been forever and a day since I have written a blog post. I always have good intentions of getting it done, and then pffft, right out of the brain it goes. God has been dealing with me for a while about starting a church that is available to everyone. After my interim-ship ended at Wards Creek, I felt the call even stronger. When I say available to everyone, I mean that anyone and everyone is welcome in the door. Our family of mixed heritage has encountered many problems with this issue in the past. My wife and I have prayed about this for a long time. In August of this year, we realized it was time to go forward with the burden that God had given us. Out of this, The Journey was started in New Boston, TX. We meet in the back room of a Mexican Restaurant in downtown New Boston. We have seen a very steady attendance of between 16 and 44. Our average attendance is 31. The most important thing about this Journey is that 5 souls have professed Christ as savior since Sept. 8, 2013. We praise God for all He has done and continues to do. We also have had Adam Huggins leading our worship for us. This experience has truly been one that God has directed us too. So what are we trying to accomplish at The Journey:
1. We are teaching the love of Christ to everyone. We are teaching that Christ died for our sins, was buried and rose again according to the scriptures. We are spreading the gospel message in New Boston to anyone willing to listen.
2. We are loving people. There are many people who have been hurt by traditional churches. Our goal is to leave tradition and religion out and grow as disciples together.
3. We are looking for ways to be involved in the community. We long to show the love of Christ to others through mission work in and around New Boston.
4. We are looking forward to writing our first check to a missionary on the field somewhere to help spread the gospel where we are not located.
I am excited about the excitement of the Journeyites. We are organizing on the 17th of November at 2:30 in the afternoon. We are trying to secure a place to have this special organization service. Everyone is invited to attend this service and hlp us celebrate. I will post more on the place as soon as we secure it.
