Service
Service to God in our society is often seen as attending church on Sunday morning. Going to a building and sitting for a few hours is not complete service to God. We should be worshipping God in a church service, but we should be serving God oustide of the building. There are many ways in which we can serve God outside of the buidling. The most important way is to love others the way that God loves us. Christianity has taken a big hit in society lately for being intolerant and judgmental. If we look at the way some churches and individuals act, I can't say that I blame secular society for viewing us this way. We have to embrace people, and teach them the teachings of Jesus Christ. In order to do this, we have to live like we understand Jesus Christ's teachings. Since we are all sinners, we cannot say that one sin is worse than others. If we don't focus on what we are doing, we will find ourselves adrift and away from God. When Peter saw Jesus on the water and he stepped out at the behest of Jesus, all he had to do was keep his eyes on Him to make it. When Peter concentrated more on his worries and fears than on Jesus, he began to sink. Peter's whole goal was to keep his eyes on Jesus and he failed to do that. If our eyes are on Jesus, we will live a life that God is pleased with. If we are living this life, then others will see the love of God in us and want to experience it.
